Product Spotlight: Oakley Pro M-Frame Sunglasses
The Oakley Pro M-Frame Sunglasses are simply an amazing accessory to a serious road cycler. There is nothing better than cruising down a hill and not having any wind, sweat, or bugs in your eyes.
Design:
The Pro M-Frame design is very sleek, and customizable. The frame itself can be a hinged style, or hingeless. I thoroughly recommend the hingeless design. They are more durable, and more comfortable.
There are four different lens shapes. The sweep seems to be the best at keeping sweat buildup off the lenses, but I prefer the look of the heater style. There are also hybrid, hybrid s, and strike styles. It’s mostly personal preference in customizing the lens style, although many other cyclers seem to prefer the sweep lens as well.
The Pro M-Frame sunglasses wouldn’t be complete without having a selection of lens colors to choose from. In this case there are nine different options. The most popular for sunny days seems to be any of the Iridium colors, and the Persimmon are preferred by many for cloudy days.
The nosebomb color is all about personal preference.
Comfort:
I’ve found these to be incredibly comfortable to wear. The frame hugs the forehead very well, and keeps sweat from dripping down into your eyes most of the time. The nosebomb isn’t customizeable so you may want to try them out to see how they fit your particular nose. They feel like a very firm, and solid fit.
Durability:
It’s recommended to treat these with care. As with any type of sunglasses, the Pro M-Frame’s are subject to scratching, and breaking in various places. I pretty much only take them out to wear, and put them back in their case immediately after I’m done with them. A word of caution; the prescription lenses that can be added in are very, very prone to constantly breaking.
Price:
The Oakley Pro M-Frame sunglasses can be found for as little as $110, and as high as $165 found on the Oakley website.
Conclusion:
These are hands-down the best, and most commonly used sunglasses that you can find for road cycling. If you can stomach the price, I really recommend the Oakley Pro M-Frame sunglasses.
