Product Spotlight: Specialized Body Geometry Sport Road Shoe
One of the first things I will tell any new rider to upgrade is a new set of pedals and a good set of shoes. The only problem with this suggestion is that the combination of a decent set of clipless pedals and shoes can really get on the expensive side. When it comes to shoes, you need to invest in a pair that will be completely comfortable all the way through a long ride. Shoes are the part of your bike that transfer your power to the bike. As far as I am concerned, they are the most important part on the bike. Unfortunately, quality shoes usually come with a price. As the old saying goes, “you get what you pay for.”
Cycling shoes can cost anywhere from $45 to $500, and don’t expect to wear those $45 shoes on a century and still be able to walk afterwards. Thank goodness for the Specialized Body Geometry Sport Road shoes. These shoes have the same performance, and longitudinal arch support of the company’s high-end models, but cost a whole lot less. At only $80, you get “injection-molded soles that are light and stiff while the leather/mesh uppers breathe, and they also boast 3 Velcro straps for a great fit and feel.”
The Sport Road shoes have 2 and 3 bold patterns that will fit Look, Shimano, and Time cleat configurations.
