I would just like to welcome everyone to the start of what I hope will be a great website. I began cycling a couple years ago with a bit of persuasion from a friend of mine who lived out in Colorado and was a huge cycling buff. He was moving back to Minneapolis, MN where I was born and still live, and wanted to have a riding partner. The only problem was that his wallet was a little fatter than mine, and most of his recommendations came with a hefty price tag. I didn’t know where to begin looking for my first road bike. The first place I naturally went was the internet, and was astonished at how few sites there were devoted to the average cycler. Sure, there were the websites following the racing scene, and there were even a few sites that talked about $5,000 bikes and $75 carbon fiber water bottle cages, but nothing for the beginner. I ended up finding a few good forums, and thanks to the help of a good community of online biking enthusiasts, I was able to get my first bike. I picked up a brand new Bianchi Brava from my local bike shop for around 600 dollars. Over the next two years I put more money into the bike than I paid for it, and have put over 2000 miles on it. I am officially hooked. Roadcycler.com is designed to give the cycling community a place read daily cycling news, and gear reviews, eventually a podcast, and much more. This site isn’t devoted to either the beginner, intermediate, or expert. Roadcycler.com is devoted to anyone with a passion to ride.
