Wired: Banned Tour Technology

Cervelo R3This isn’t the newest article, but it is interesting anyway, and I am sure many of you missed it. Wired Magazine posted a list of about 9 bikes that are actually banned from the tour for various reasons. Wired’s big claim is that you can go to your local bike shop and pick up a bike that is better than the pros use. Many of the bikes are interesting, some falling under the minimum weight limit (6.8 kg) set by the Union Cycliste International, and others are not allowed for more obvious reasons (recumbent bikes in the Tour?). There isn’t much to read, and there are a lot of pictures, so you have no reason not to check it out.
