Thanks for the great info. I am back into cycling and preparing for the 210 mile STP, seattle->portland ride. i look forward to it and started conditioning for it. The food part is becoming a huge issue. I was a bigger guy at 235lbs at 5'10 and dropped to a big guy at 208lbs by simply changing my diet and eating routine. I started cycling again and the new challenge is to eat "right" while exercising. I ride 20 miles every other day and cranck out 50-80 mile trips every other weekend.
A suggested food plan would be great, perhaps even some suggestions if my diet should change before my long rides.
thanks so much for all the info, I will be looking for more to come and you have my email if I can return the favor.

Thank you for the inexpensive tips. Because I have been commuting daily and havent been eating the right foods, I have been losing a lot of weight. For an already 155-160 pound guy ...that is not good. I'm looking forward to the next article on Cycling Nutrition 101.
