Astana Team LogoWell, it looks like Johan Bruyneel (formerly with the Discover Channel team) will be joining Astana next season.  The Kazakhstan Cycling Federation went after Bruyneel due to his pretty amazing accomplishments in cycling.

Bruyneel who has eight Tour de France titles to his name will take on the role as Astana Pro Cycling team general manager beginning in 2008.

Astana will be quite the powerful tea, as Alberto Contador has reportedly been interested in joining Astana as well.

The roster of riders has yet to be agreed but will not include any of the riders implicated in doping earlier in the season.

Hopefully Astana can shake off their reputation of being a team known for doping.
