Lance Armstrong supports Landis in regards to doping
Lance Armstrong is definitely not one to sit on the sidelines. Â He has been involved in many things since retiring from competitive cycling. Â Recently, he has come out in favor of Landis, mentioning that the US arbitration court had done quite shoddy work.
“I didn’t follow Floyd’s case that much but, I will tell you, if that’s a jury trial in the United States of America, with eight or 10 or 12 of our fellow citizens, you get off every time. Not that you get off, but you’re vindicated. When you are giving someone the death penalty, which they essentially did, you cannot tolerate shoddy work, which they clearly did,” Armstrong further said.
Armstrong has also commented on the state of competitive cycling, and the turmoil over all of the doping scandals.
“The competitive side (of cycling) is definitely going through a tough period. But I think all of sport is going through a tough time. You could look at cycling and say, ‘Oh, they’re all cheaters.’ But you know what? You can look at the New England Patriots and say they’re cheaters too,” said Lance Armstrong, seven-time Tour de France winner.
I have a feeling cycling will be battling doping issues for quite a while.
