Michael Rasmussen has won 665,000 euros ($1 million dollars) from the Dutch team Rabobank, for their rapid dismissal of Rasmussen from the team.

Rasmussen also received a two year ban from professional cycling by the Monaco Cycling Federation.

Rasmussen was leading last year’s Tour de France until he was withdrawn amid claims from his Rabobank team that he “lied about his whereabouts” leading up the race.

The telegraph includes some additional details about Rasmussen’s big day.
