21 of the 24 spots in the US Olympic Team have been announced by USA Cycling.  The majority of the spots are automatic nominations, but nine were chosen by the committee.

The road cycling team will consist of George Hincapie, Levi Leipheimer, Jason McCartney, Christian Vande Velde and David Zabriskie.

From the AFP:

The track cycling team will include Michael Blatchford, Bobby Lea, Taylor Phinney, Adam Duvendeck, Giddeon Massieon, Michael Friedman the men’s side and women Sarah Hammer and Jennie Reed.

The committee has three women cyclists left to select until the USA Olympic team is complete.

USA Today has an article focusing on Hincapie, and the fact that this is his fifth Olympic cycling team.

The Salt Lake Tribune has coverage on the two cyclists from Utah, Zabriskie and Leipheimer.
