Trek has teamed up with eSoles to add in custom footbeds to their line of Bontrager cycling shoes.

From the press release issued by Trek and eSoles:

Next week, Bontrager will introduce its highly anticipated cycling shoe with eSoles customizable footbeds. The eSoles eFit(TM) footbed, which will be found in all Bontrager shoes, can be customized by the consumer using the eSoles self-guided 3D TruCapture(R) Kiosk Scanning System that will identify specific customized inserts for an additional charge.

Also, according to the press release, there will be an option to upgrade the footbeds to include the fully customizable ePro footbed.  Apparently, this is the same footbed used by the Discovery Channel cycling team in 2007.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any prices listed on the press release.

I’m not sure if I’d consider that the ‘utlimate cycling shoe’ as their press release states, but maybe I’ll look out for them…
