Whats new for the Trek 2009 road bike lineup? (not much)

Trek MadoneThe Road Rage blog has done a great job of breaking down the new changes for Trek’s road bike lineup in 2009.  The primary focus from Trek seems to be in the 2009 Madone and their ProjectOne program.  As we covered earlier, the Madone now has replaceable derailleur hangers, and has now been confirmed to come with ceramic bearings, and SRAM Red or Shimano 7900 offerings.

ProjectOne is Trek’s version of a custom bike creator.  You can log onto the website and change around components and color options (and see the changes on the webpage model).  It now changes the price in real time as you change components, and paint schemes, but also shows you the estimated lead time.  Every 5 and 6 series Madone can get one of four custom paint schemes, custom components, and shipped to your dealer in 7 days.  Pretty impressive.

The rest of Trek’s 2009 changes include a new 9 speed Portland, the 520 gets “performance geometry,” and the 2009 Trek 1.5 gets a WSD version.  Oh, and the Pilot line is no more.
