Lance Armstrong

Well, it has been floating around the intertubes for the last couple days as a rumor.  Lance Armstrong has now officially told the press that he is coming out of retirement in 2009.  While Armstrong leaves out the specifics, he does say that he is returning to cycling to “raise awareness of the global cancer burden.”

Armstrong posted a video on his foundations website saying, “Hey everybody, I know there’s been a lot of reports in the media today about a possible return to racing.  Just want to let you know that after long talks with my kids, the rest of my family, a close group of friends, I have decided to return to professional cycling in 2009.”

All the best of luck to Lance.  We can only hope he has a better showing then most athletes who come out of retirement.
